KM-16 & KM-16-HD Multiple Trimmers

The Newman KM-16 and KM-1K-HD are designed to trim lumber into multiple lengths in a highly productive and accurate manner. They come standard with quick change saw arbors, low maintenance holddown systems, and dust collection ports. Machines may either be lengthened or shortened at customer request. Saw units may be added or deleted. Like all Newman Whitney products, the KM-16 and KM-16-HD are backed by our standard warranty and supported by a parts and service department second to none.

KF-24 Glue Line Gang Ripsaw

The KF-24 Glue Line Gang Ripsaw is designed to rip random width lumber or panels and produce consistent multiple width pieces in a tolerance range of +/-0.003" (+/-.0762 mm). By combining air loaded press rolls with an extended pitch dip chain feed system, the Newman gang ripsaw can accomplish rip accuracy superior to any roll feed ripsaw in the world. The KF-24 has a 24-1/2" (622 mm) arbor and can utilize up to ten 14" (356 mm) blades. At feed speeds up to 150 FPM (46 mpm), with multiple board feeding, the KF-24 will feed up to 14 pieces per minute.

The Newman KF-24 is built to produce close tolerance, glue joint accurate rip cuts on lumber and panels. The KF-24's many features enhance high production with accurate rips and efficient, low maintenance operation.

24-1/2" Saw sleeve length
22" Minimum stock length to infinite maximum length
4" Maximum thickness using 14" diameter saw blades

Feed Speeds:
5 HP gear motor 30-150 fpm .

Arbor Motor:
75 HP, 3600 RPM TEFC standard NEMA frame AC electric motor.
Saw arbor is direct coupled to drive motor by a flexible coupling.
Other horsepowers are available.

Saw Arbor Assembly:
2-3/16" diameter turned, ground and polished saw arbor.
24-1/2" capacity saw sleeve arranged for 3-1/8" diameter bore saw blades and spacers.
One complete set of 4-5/8" O.D. saw spacers included. Set consists of 24-1/2" length, not to exceed 40 total spacers. Saw sleeve and outboard bearing are easily removable.
Optional power hoist available.

Dust Hoods:
CFM requirements:
Upper outfeed main hood 7-7/8" O.D. - 2184 CFM
Infeed anti-kickback hood 4-7/8" O.D. - 854 CFM
Total negative air - 3038 CFM
Minimum CFM requirement based on 4" W.G. at hood openings at 6,000 FPM velocity

8" diameter dust pipe to the press roll housing must be a flexible pipe or slip tube to allow vertical thickness adjustment of press rolls.
5" diameter pipe above the i9nfeed upper anti-kickback finger assembly can be a rigid pipe.
Dust pipes should be connected and suction system be operating before operating the machine.

Guide:
Slide type infeed guide with handle lock.
Either side of guide can be used for stock reference.

Press Rolls:
Two 4" diameter individual air loaded press rolls ahead of, and two after the saw arbor.
First press roll is steel; all others are rubber covered.

Pneumatics:
Pneumatic controls provided. Machine is arranged for 80 psi , 1 cfm .

Safety Anti-kickback Assemblies:
Two upper full width sets of segmented pivoting sharp tooth fingers provided at infeed of machine. One upper full width set of segmented pivoting sharp tooth fingers provided at outfeed of machine. One lower full width on infeed.

Optional Equipment:
* 415 volt, 50 Hertz in lieu of standard 460 volt, 60 Hertz
* Motor powered raising and lowering of saw arbor
